Luther Barnes
Luther Lee Barnes, International Gospel Hall of Fame 2005 Inductee, is a song writer, producer, composer, arranger and performer. A Nash County native, he earned his B. A. degree in Music Education from St. Augustine’s College in 1977. A Grammy nominee, Mr. Barnes’ many musical awards have included the Gospel Music Workshop of America Excellence Award for Best Traditional Male Vocalist and the Stellar Award for Traditional CD of the Year. He has recorded over 19 albums of gospel music since 1989 either individually, with The Sunset Jubilaires or with The Red Budd Gospel Choir. He performs gospel music concerts across the nation and supports local scholarships and the Martin Luther King Community Project.
