Boddie Noell Group
Ben Mayo Boddie, Sr., Nicholas Bunn Boddie, and W. Carleton Noell were the founders of Boddie-Noell Enterprises. They were nominated and accepted as a group. Their business accomplishments include the creation of the Carleton House Restaurant and Motel, a Hardee’s Franchise including over 300 restaurants in four states and operation of several other restaurants such as the Texas Steakhouse and Moe’s Southwest Grill. The Boddie brothers were born at Rose Hill Plantation in Nash County. Noell was a native of Danville, Virginia. Each has been active in community groups including the Boys and Girls Club of Rocky Mount and the Boy Scouts. Mr. Noell died in 1979.
