John Sykes

After earning his music degree from East Carolina University, John Sykes spent thirty years directing junior high or high school bands in Rocky Mount. His bands competed in state and national events and earned Superior ratings 22 times. His outstanding bands performed for the President of the United States, for two Orange Bowls and in the Tournament of Roses, and won three Grand National Championships.
