Joseph Daniel “Danny” Talbott
Joseph Daniel “Danny” Talbott, NC Sports Hall of Fame 2004 inductee, led the Rocky Mount Blackbirds to State Championships in baseball, basketball, and football in his senior year (1963). Mr. Talbott was All-Conference and All-State in baseball, basketball, and football both his Junior and Senior years. He was ACC Football Player of the Year in 1965 and ACC Athlete of the Year in 1966. Mr. Talbott was a two-sport star at the University of North Carolina and went on to play professional football and baseball.
